Kids' Fishing Derby
Dear Derby Sponsor -
The time has come to prepare for the Kids’ Fishing Derby: an annual, and cherished, event we are proud to be bringing back to our Douglas County community in 2025.
As per our previous 30 year tradition, the Derby will be held in the first weekend in June at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, Nevada, and is open to all children ages 3 – 12, as well as their families. Children will have the opportunity to fish Willow Creek, completely free of charge, in one of 4 sessions on Saturday, June 7th or 3 sessions on Sunday, June 8th, each lasting an hour and a half.
Child anglers are provided everything they need to have a fun fishing experience, and each child is given a special gift for their participation in the Derby. Prizes are awarded for the biggest fish caught during each session, as well as for every “tagged” fish caught throughout the Derby. All at absolutely NO charge.
The success of this event is due largely to the outstanding support we have received from our community, and from sponsors, such as yourself. We are once again seeking donations that will directly benefit our young anglers in the form of purchased fish, supplies, bait, tackle, and prizes.
As in the past, there are 3 ways to become a Sponsor of the Kids’ Fishing Derby:

Cash Donation – Which is always our greatest need.

Donation of a Raffle Prize – This is a great way to support the Derby and have your business, or special interest, highlighted during the event. Raffle prizes are awarded throughout both days of the Derby, and significantly add to the fun of the event

Purchase of a Business Sponsorship Banner – To be hung along the orange fence surrounding the event, to clearly identify your business as a sponsor of the Derby. Banners can be purchased for $175, and will remain in the possession of the KFD, to be rehung each subsequent year for $100.

The Kids’ Fishing Derby, Inc. is a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Nevada, is exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, and contributions to the Derby are tax deductible.
Donations made to the Kids' Fishing Derby directly benefit our child anglers in the form of purchased fish, bait & tackle, loaner rods, gate prizes, trophies, and more.
